The Goal

Talkstars! is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of the feelings a student experiences when asked to present in public and how to effectively channel those feelings into positive energy, in a fun and engaging format.

Public speaking only comes from preparation and repetition (practice practice practice).  Students will have an abundance of opportunities for each, ALWAYS presented in a FUN learning environment.  While each Lesson Plan and Exercise is designed to teach critical speaking skills, they are also designed to be enjoyable for the student.  Ultimately, Talkstars! teaches our students that each presentation is just a conversation.

The Approach

Public speaking and presentation skills are learned functions.  Yet, in most school curriculums, they are approached more as an ancillary element or skillset.  Children are generally expected to speak publicly and frequently present things in their classrooms, but how to deliver their content isn’t generally an area of focus so much as the focus on the content itself.  Talkstars! takes a different approach.

Understanding that superior presentations come from preparation and repetition, the Talkstars! curriculum and lesson plans are built on the principles that certain core ingredients are reinforced in every single session and lesson plans will appear more like games to the students while teaching them all the critical skills that result in effective communication.

Talkstars! results in our students enjoying greater confidence, poise, style, and an interesting feeling of having an advantage over their peers who have not had the benefit of such focused and specialized learning.

Pricing

Talkstars! is an eight-week session of weekly classes hosted in a convenient neighborhood location. Each 8-week session is $360 per child.

Talkstars! keeps kids engaged, interested, and having fun—while learning the basics of effective public speaking. When it's over, our goal is for your child to not only be comfortable presenting to groups, but truly confident when presenting to groups. We believe this is a skill that will not only help them today, but many years into the future.
